New Life to a Bench and Nightstand (Restoration and Refurbishment)

The best pieces in flipping are free.

Through the delivery of a different piece of furniture, I met a man that was moving from his home. He needed a basement full of goods removed. As soon as possible. I was the right man for that job. And this bench and nightstand were the bounty.

Originally (I forgot to snap a before photo), the ribbed adornments were a black stain. They were chipped and battered from two decades of use. I repaired the chips, filled in the breaks in the wood, then sanded the whole area for paint application. After three coats of pain, then a quick metallic gold gloss over the pulls, this set was ready for reentry into daily living.

A week later, they’d found a new home.
